第一个the shore，表示特指，但并不一定是“岸”的意思，也可以包含诸如“海边、沙滩上”等，强调和“at sea”对应。

the除了特指也可以由泛指的意思，定冠词加名词单数泛指一类东西，这里的the shore就是指海滩。而后面的brought to shore，你可以把bring to理解成为一个动词词组，后面只能跟某地somewhere，而当shore表示海滩这样一个地方的时候，自然就不用冠词了。
